When I was first watching, I loved every Doctor equally. All three of the ones I was able to watch on TV were great and it didn’t matter to me which one showed up on my screen. Then the series got revamped and I became infatuated with the leather jacket wearing 9th.

Now after careful consideration. I totally dig the new guy. 11 has qualities of some of the older incarnations and he is still good for the new fanbase. I also like that he challenges his companion to think instead of just letting them be stupid people he needs to save with his screwdriver. I was worried he would be overly reliant like a few other Doctors, but so far so good.

Behold the awesome of #11.

Trying to bring an old building in Indiana up to code is like being on your own episode of Holmes on Homes.

I thought I was a lazy person until we walked into the treasure trove of mystery live wires and unexplained materials decisions. (Covering up a light switch with a cheap corkboard wall is already bad enough, but when it is clear that they cut through the plastic plate on a set of six switches in order to do that is epic.)

As dangerous as the old building is, it is surprising how few injuries have occurred. Also I am shocked that old hardware store we are gutting had not burned to the ground years ago.

I will never understand how it makes more sense to take just as much effort and cost to muck something up royally, instead of just doing it the right way.

Every year I say I am going to finish this book I have been hacking at for 10 years. Every time I pick up what I have and just edit it until I have to start all over. Lately the idea has been to join in NaNoWriMo and just chuck it out in November. Coming up is the fourth November and I am just tempted to chuck the whole idea.
Think I’m at the point where I am annoyed I am still writing something that I hacked out a skeleton for at 17, but I don’t want to just ditch it.
Should probably just flip a coin over it.

I have a video camera. It makes a great webcam, and works with any application I have ever thrown at it. I just doubt anytime soon I will make a video entry. Not too long ago, a few prominent web persons decided that vlogs and video posts in general would become very popular very soon, drastically reducing the number of publications that use the written word.

It made me laugh then and it is still funny now. It was hard enough to get people to take pictures of themselves, which they can stockpile and only select the best of, let alone convince them its a great idea to state a serious opinion on a video where you get to see exactly who they are.

Sure there are plenty of video sites with plenty of users. Most of these are either gated little communities or powerhouses with enough videos that the users never seriously expect to be seen. The types of videos in both of these places tend to be short and silly, in most cases minimizing the exposure.

One with enough of an opinion to whip a blog, likely has either not enough time or lacks cojones to do video posts. Podcasts are still working their way up to being commonplace since you do not have to prepare as much, but we are still lacking a good base of vlogs.
